Transaxillary Breast Augmentation
Cosmo Clinic’s plastic surgeons are experts in breast augmentation. As one of the few clinics in Norway, we can offer breast augmentation through a small incision in the armpit (transaxillary breast augmentation). We have extensive experience with breast augmentation via the armpit using endoscopic (keyhole) technique, resulting in a very discreet scar placed within the hair-bearing area of the armpit. At Cosmo Clinic, we have used this surgical method with Motiva implants for several years, achieving excellent results and very satisfied patients.
An increasing number of women wish to avoid scars on the breasts following augmentation, and we therefore offer placement of the scar in the armpit for those who prefer it. We use state-of-the-art endoscopic equipment, enabling the creation of a pocket beneath the pectoral muscle. Motiva Ergonomix implants are smooth and soft and can then be inserted beneath the breast using a sterile insertion device (Keller Funnel) through the armpit in an elegant manner. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and takes approximately one hour. Our experience is that patients tend to experience slightly less postoperative discomfort compared to when the incision is placed in the inframammary fold.
